Our girls on rise in US

Tewantin Noosa touring professional Katherine Hull continued her march up the world rankings with a sterling sixth place finish in last weekend’s Jamie Farr Classic on the US LPGA Tour.

Katherine finished only four shots behind winner Paula Creamer and collected just over $US40,000 to climb up to 47th position on the 2008 money list.

Her top 10 position has also seen her world ranking climb to an all-time high of 87th.

Also encouraging was the continued resurgence from fellow Sunshine Coast professional Sarah-Jane Kenyon, who finished 52nd in the same event. Despite limited opportunities on the main Tour, Sarah’s recent consistent form has seen her currently sit in 145th place on the main Tour money list, as well as a very impressive fifth on the secondary Duramed Tour money list.

Sarah now faces the tough decision of either chasing the big money on the US LPGA Tour for the rest of 2008 and securing her card for 2009, or doing so by finishing top five on the 2008 Duramed Tour money list. Here’s hoping that both girls continue to improve and finish 2008 in style.
