The Tasmanian Tigers mustered little more than a meow this week, and yesterday at Maroochydore they rounded out an ordinary pre-season tournament with their third loss.
In the final match of the round-robin tournament, the Tigers took to the crease first and set South Australia a moderate target of 206.
Youngster Tim Paine turned in the top performance with the bat for Tasmania, adding 67 to the total before Andy Delmont toppled his bails.
The South Australian run chase was, in a word, impressive.
The Redbacks relinquished only one wicket, that of Daniel Harris, as they ran down their target with a comfortable eight overs to spare.
Harris contributed 55 before Chris Duval beat him with a medium pacer.
Delmont contribute an unbeaten 40, but the bulk of the work was done by opener Callum Ferguson, who dominated the Tasmania attack on his way to an unbeaten 96.
The Tigers can yet leave the Coast with a win – they play South Australia again tomorrow, in a Twenty20 match at Caloundra, followed by a two-day match starting on Monday.
